SPOOKY Altered Frame DT for SWMEB

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by today. I want to share this adorable Spooky Frame I created using a wood frame I found in my stash.

I first covered the frame sides with some black acrylic paint.  After it dried, I covered the front of the frame in the After Dark Paper Collection, from Crate Paper, and adhered it with some gel medium.  I then covered the entire frame with a clear embossing powder, to give the frame a glossy look. In our Design Team Kit this month there was some glow in the dark embossing powder.  I took a embossing pen and colored in the circles with the embossing pen and applied some of the glow in the dark embossing powder.

I cut out the Rickey House, Candle Fright Spider and On the Fence Time Holtz Alterations Dies in chipboard and painted each one of them with black acrylic paint.  I took a dry paint brush and went over the house and fence with a dry brush, using white gesso.  I then applied a couple of coats of clear embossing powder, to give them a glossy look. I then applied them to the frame with some E6000 glue and hot glue, to arrange them on the frame.  I added some cute puffy stickers spelling out Spooky,

I Love You Valentines Card

Hope everyone is having  a wonderful day. Today I want to share this cute Valentines Card I created. The card measures 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. To Create the background with embossed the white cardstock with a chicken wire Sizzix embossing folder. To achieve the color on the background, I added some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Flat Fabio T-Bird Turquoise and Pink Lady’s Pink with a brush directly to the paper until I got the color I was looking for. I cut out some of hearts from Tim Holtz mover and shapers hearts and the Heart Wings Bigz Die. I also used a heart from the ephemera pack of the Just Sayin’ Collection and arranged the hearts on the card so they were stacked.

I cut out 2 of the Flowering Branch from Die-Namites and colored them with a Faber-Castel Pistachio Gelato. I arranged 3 of the flowers I created in a triangle and added some of the vines and cut 2 flags out of the paper collection and stamped I Love you on the banner and inserted the banners into the cluster so it looks like it was part of the arrangement.

Love is in the Air Valentine Card

Hello everyone, it was a really wet weekend, so I decided to get in my studio and create a Valentines card. I created using one of the papers that had this image already on it from My Mind’s Eye Just Sayin’ Collection. I cut the image down so it would fit the card. I then cut out two 1” strips with a scalloped edge punch and inserted one under the center piece of paper at the top and one on the bottom.

For the cluster of flowers, I used some left over pieces of flowers I had from a previous project on my desk. The accents were cut out of the Flowering Branch and Bare Branch from Die-Namite dies and arranged them around the flowers. I added some bling to finish off the card.

Altered Board Book

Hello everyone, I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. Today I wanted to stop by and share an Art Journal, I created out of a board book that I picked up at a yard sale over the summer.  I wanted to create an art journal with which I could play around with some different techniques.

I took some heavy gesso and covered the entire front and back covers to mute the color pictures on the board book. I then applied some Tim Holtz Idea-olgy tissues paper using some gel medium and added some gesso with a dry bush to fade some of the printed tissue paper. I wanted to add more texture to the front cover so I decided to use some modeling paste and stencils with some sprays using some white, copper and silver.

For the cluster on the front cover I decided to use some of my favorite dies from Die-Namites Dies, the Small Ivy DN-1170 and the Budding Branch DN-1037. I arranged them on the cover in a cluster with some scrap burlap, chipboard, clock face and owl I had laying around in my scrapbook studio.
